The 0.455" Webley Mk VI revolver was an improved and simplified version of the Mk V and earlier service pistols, introduced in May 1915. It saw widespread use in WW1 as the standard serice pistol. This example was manufactured by Enfield small arms as part of a production run lasting from 1921-1926. This example is date stamped 1926. The weapon was officially superceded by the 0.38" revolver in 1928, first by the Enfield No 2 Mk1 and later the Webley Mk IV, however many 0.455 revolvers continued in service until after WW2.
