The Mk1* is the later version of the Enfield revolver (167) with a spurless hammer making it double action only, and shaped plastic grips. This version was introduced in 1938 but was unpopular due to the hammer and many users prefered the Webley Mk IV or the older Mk 1 Enfield. Officially the spur was removed to prevent snagging in tight spaces eg. For tank crews. Besides RSAF these were made by Albion Motors and Coventry Tool Co. This example has no RSAF stamps but the stamps present have not been identified.
