Carbine version of Mannlicher system 1895 rifle (See FTA 146) Two short weapons existed; a cavalry carbine and a 'Stutzen' or support troops weapon for gunners engineers etc. Both are very similar but the side mounted sling swivels suggest this example is the cavalry carbine (both were fitted for a bayonet). Sling has Swedish markings and is not likely to be original
