This Carbine was issued to cavalry, signal and artillery units, as well as Gendarmerie in various variants. Easy to carry and operate but had heavy recoil due to short barrel. Integral Magazine held 3 rounds. Many were adapted in 1927, including this example. Cleaning rod has been removed and fittings for bayonet adapted. This makes it difficult to determine which model the weapon was prior to re-modelling.
