The remington Rolling block rifle was adopted by Sweden and Norway in 1867, originally in 12.7mm black powder calibre. Initially locks were made by Remington but manufacture began later in Sweden and Norway. Starting in 1889 a number of these weapons were converted to 8mm calibre, this is one sich hence an original manufacture date of 1875 followed by a conversion date of 1892. Crowned C is the mark of the Carl Gustav factory and the royal crest of Sweden. Pairs of initials are factory inspectors marks.
