Initially designed for use by plain clothes police the German Army adopted both the PP (Polizei Pistole) and the PPK and kept in production throughout the Second World War. Widely used by the Luftwaffe and various police. Production resumed in France and US soon after 1945 and many police forces and security organisations continue to use the PPK. It is issued to soldiers of the Ulster Defence Regiment for personal protection when off duty. Serial No. and proof mark suggest his example is probably pre-war manufacture. High quality polish finish suggests police issue. No Military stampings.
