Adopted by the German armed forces in 1938 this excellent pistol is still in service today. Designed to replace the Luger P.08 which was expensive to produce the P.38 could be quickly and easily produced and include such features as a handcocked trigger and up to date safety devices. Robust, accurate and hard wearing it can be easily stripped for cleaning and is more reliable than the Luger. This is a late war Mauser manufactured example with military acceptance stamps.
