One of the classic pistols of all time the Luger was adopted by the German army in 1908 and remained the standard service pistol until 1938. With its unique toggle action the Luger is a high quality weapon but expensive to produce and not very tolerant of trench conditions. Manufacture ceased when replaced by P38 so this is a late example
