Designed in 1948 by Major Cardosa of the Portuguese army the FBP copied the German MP38 for its bolt and operating spring enclosed in telescopic casing and the US ‘Grease Gun’ for the pressed metal frame and telescoping wire butt. A simple and robust weapon used by the Portuguese army in Africa.
