Many captured German Kar 98 were reconditioned in post-war Yugoslavia. This is one example. Original German manufacturing stamps have been ground off and replaced with Yugoslav markings, however Waffenampt acceptance stamps remain on Rhside below the sight. The work was done at the Zavodi Crvena Zastava Red Banner Works. Zastava was known as "Preduzece 44"--meaning Enterprise 44, from 1945-52.
