Biography:

1. William Belsham was employed as a Cooper with a rate of pay of 1/9d per day, but he was not allowed to watch. He may well have been the 14 year-old son of Thomas Belsham, who died in the huge explosion in 1811 (Supply 5/229 dated the 29th August 1812). 2. William was still a Cooper on the 13th February 1814, but was then paid 2/4d per day. However, he was still not allowed to watch, according to Supply 5/230.
