Biography:
1. William Franklin had been employed for 4 months from June 1825, according to the List of Persons Employed by the Engineers' Department (WO54/550 dated the 1st October 1825). It also recorded that he was a single man, aged 24, and that he had been engaged as a Labourer on a temporary basis and was to be discharged at the end of October 1825. His pay during the 4 months amounted to 2/2d per day.
