Biography:
1. Benjamin Eaton was employed as a Labourer, "setting and drawing stoves, and in Willow Plantations, etc." earning 2/-d per day, and was allowed to watch in turn (List of Officers, Foremen and Artificers, etc. Employed dated the 23rd August 1808 - Supply 5/227).
2. He became a Millman in September 1810, at which time, his pay had increased to 2/3d per day. He was also allowed 6d per night when on duty Supply 5/228).
3. List of Employees dated the 29th August 1812 (Supply 5/229) confirmed that Mr. Eaton was still a Millman, but that he now earned 3/-d per day, in addition to which, he was allowed 6d per night when on duty.
4. Benjamin was still a Millman on the 13th February 1814 (Supply 5/230) with the same rate of pay and an additional 6d per night when on duty.
