Biography:
1. John Cadwell was employed as a casual Bricklayer's Labourer earning 2/8d per day in the Engineers' Department, having first been employed by the Board on the 21st August 1813 as a general Labourer. He was a 50-year-old widower living in Waltham Abbey with 2 children, one married and the other unmarried (WO54/516 dated February 1816).
